Unforgettable trail running moments
In the mountains above 1,500 meters, you can breathe deeply and reap the health benefits of high-altitude air. The lower oxygen pressure stimulates the production of red blood cells, leading to improved oxygen supply to the body. This enhances health and well-being, reduces stress, and is further enhanced by engaging in mountain activities.
In Warth-Schröcken, we offer the perfect blend of sports, high-altitude air, and nature. Deceleration, variety, and closeness to nature are the focal points. Our diverse trail running routes take you through untouched nature, past sparkling mountain lakes, and provide impressive views. Even for non-trail runners, there are easy routes to experience the thrill of trail running.
From June 28 to 30, we are offering a Trail Running Camp Level 1, providing an opportunity to explore the world of trail running together with experienced coaches. Our program is designed to prepare you optimally for the trail running season. For experienced runners, we also offer another camp, Level 2, from September 19 to 22, featuring more challenging routes, technical tips, and engaging presentations.
Thanks to the elevated location of Warth and Schröcken, you can easily start your journey from the valley. Use cable cars for high-altitude training or ascend the surrounding mountain peaks for even greater challenges. The "Königstour," a 43.7-kilometer route, circumnavigates the two Walser mountain villages, presenting a demanding challenge with a 2,179-meter ascent and descent, offering breathtaking views at an altitude of over 2,100 meters.
The hiking area of Warth-Schröcken is ideal for trail running! Thanks to the Steffisalp Express or the hiking buses, beautiful panoramic tours with little elevation gain are perfect for beginners. For advanced and professional runners, there are more challenging routes and peak experiences. In the trail running taster course with Andreas Tomann, no prior knowledge or peak condition is required, as it's not about speed, but about experiencing nature and enjoying the varied running. The course starts by clarifying the question "What is trail running?" followed by an equipment check and a brief warm-up. During the route, informative stops are made where you'll receive valuable tips on route planning, running techniques, training variations, and coordination exercises. Finally, there is a cool-down and a question round. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, running shoes, a mobile phone, your own drink, and refreshments.
